Original 1940 Mills Qt Sweetheart Penny Slot MachineNation's attic 1940 mills qt sweetheart 1c slot machine! Up for auction with no reserve is a very neat and darn hard to find qt slot machine. Called the qt sweetheart, this example is a harder to find penny play model. This machine is all original and works perfect! This machine was found in san francisco, ca and had been in same family for many decades. Luckily they did not change the machine in any way, everything down to the glass is mills factory original! Nations attic is my (don creekmore) full time buisness in antique slot machines. Take your time viewing all the photos and information below. If you have any questions feel free to email ro call316-371-1828. If you have a machine that is in need of repair or restoration, please call! Oen of the first things most people notice is the unique glitter paint. This extremely durable paint has weathered the years quite well. Mills offered this color along with a green and chrome platted model. A lot of people have restored these machines painted with glitter paitn into the chrome models. Unlike other qt machines, the casting is cast iron, making it very easy to chrome if desired. In addition to the original paint, this machine still have both the front and back mills locks and key. Both locks are keyed for use by the same key which is nice. The casting is free of ayn cracks or breaks. The left side jackpot glass does have some cracks, which can be replaced very easily if desired. The wood cabinet is in great shape.
Original mills decals is still present on the left side. Metal award card looks great with very minimal wear. The handle is also in evry nice condition. Overall, this is really a very nice untoucehd example! As i mentioned above, the original back door with mills lock is present. The same key that opens the front works on the back as well. The back bonnet casting is in great shape with no cracks or breaks. There are two cabinet bolts missing that hold the bonnet to the cabinet. nAy old cabinet bolts would work as replacements. (just let me know after the auction and i will install them at no cost). The serial number dating this machine to 1940-41 is located on the outside wood cabinet and also on the inside of the cabinet on part of the paper inspection tag. The last series of photos show the mechanism and inside of the cabinet. As i mentioned earlier, the machine works perfectly. I have personally tuned this machine up and have it running smooth with payouts running correctly.
The original reel strips are present nad are in good condition. I did want to mention that a round space ta the coin entry is missing. While this does not affect play, i did want to mention it and show ti in the second photo directly above. The inside of the cabinet is jsut as nice as the outside. All teh cabinet components are present and in great shape. The mills cash box is missing, but just about any cash bxo will work. If you enjoy original and fairly hard to find slot machines, htis one is for you! Production for this model wsa cut short due to wwii and the combination of penny play and it being a classic qt sweetheart make it a very special machine. I guarantee you will very pleased wiht this one! Don creekmorenations attic if you have any questions please feel free to email or call me (don creekmore) at the nations attic at 316-371-1828.
